A very dynamic and active aerospace community

On this occasion, before the summer break, our bulletin is full of many good news of our companies and reflects the excellent results of Aerospace and Defense Meetings (ADM) 2018, the great appointment of the aerospace sector developed in Seville.

The figures of participation and meetings reached in ADM and the large amount of news generated by our companies in the last quarter, reflect an undeniable reality: the aerospace industry in Andalusia - and Aerópolis, as the place where most of the sector is concentrated- have managed to create a dynamic and active aerospace business community that continuously looks for and creates new opportunities to advance and grow.

In this sense, we present here initiatives to promote innovation and technological development, such as the Magtel Foundation Awards; innovative projects, innovations and infrastructures of companies such as Aertec Solutions, CT Ingenieros, Geci Española, Grabysur and Comher; business initiatives such as the Association of Companies Hélice, implantation of new companies such as Aeropup, and technology conferences held in our Business Center, such as the ones organised by Walter Tools and Nunsys.

In the near horizon, we continue working on the preparation of a new edition of the World Space Week, which will be held from 4 to 10 next October, and the organization of activities for the year 2019, when Sevilla will assume the presidency of the community Ariane, becoming the European capital of the aerospace sector.

The 2012-2013 promotion of the Master in Management and Airport and Aviation Directing taught in Aerópolis comes to an end

The last session included the presentation of business plans prepared by students during the course as well as the participation of distinguished professionals and experts from the industry

The Aerópolis Business Center hosted a presentation and evaluation of final projects from the 2012-2013 promotion of the Master in Management and Airport and Aviation Directing, which was taught during this year in Seville through the ITAérea School of Aeronautical Business and the Official Aeronautical Engineering School of Spain (COIAE). With this event, the course which the park collaborated on officially closed.

At the event, the students presented their business plans which they developed in their Masters course as part of their training to an assessment committee, which focused on the creation of a business related to the aeronautical and/or airport sector (an airline, a store in an air terminal, or an airport maintenance company). The projects and their viability were graded by the assessment committee, who highlighted the capacities, knowledge, and acquired abilities of the students over the course of their master program to function within the aviation and airport sector.

The event brought together important professionals from the industry, both as attendants and as members of the assessment committee, which included Jonathan Ruiz, Business Development & Strategy director at P3 Voith Aerospace; Ivan Bedia, Chairman of Board of Advisors from Business in Fact; Amado Cea, assistant director of the Madrid-Barajas Airport, and Felipe Steinmetz, Head of Airframe & Materials Procurement & Supply Chain from Airbus Military.

The proposed business plans will be revised by experts from the Business in Fact incubator, thanks to the agreement that it has with ITAérea, so that the best can be tutored and mentored to become real projects and business initiatives. Thus, the opportunity to exit the labour market that the Masters program itself offers, applying acquired knowledge and experiences to create your own business in the sector is highlighted.
